2014 Homecoming Parade Route
Due to construction on Dean Road, the Homecoming Parade route will be a little different this year.  Please see the map below and click on it for the listing of the parade route.  The parade is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd.

Parent Teacher Conferences Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming soon. You will be receiving a mailing this week with the Parent/Teacher Conference sign-up slip in it. Please complete the green sign up sheet and have your student take it to their teacher(s) to confirm a conference time for you. In the event you can not sign up in advance, teachers may have time for drop in meetings. If you need an extra copy of the sign up form, it is available under Downloadable Documents/Parent Forms.  
Junior Parents ACT Information Junior Parents, you will be receiving a letter from our counseling department outlining the ACT Prep Me course that your students will be taking starting next week. The back side of the letter has a progress calendar which should be followed by your student. Please read it carefully and if you have any questions, please call your student's counselor. There is a copy of the letter under Downloadable Documents should you need to review this at a later date.   
Parents Act Now Website News   You as parents/guardians have access to a new online resource tool to help your student with bullying issues. Click on the logo and you will be taken directly to the website. 

ParentsActNow.com is a free, invaluable resource that features a series of short video segments for parents of kids and teens. You will learn:

• The basics of what bullying IS and what it ISN’T

• How to talk to your child about bullying

• What to do if your child is being bullied or is bullying others

• The facts about cyberbullying and sexual harassment

• How to build your child’s resiliency

• How to contact your child’s school

• Laws that are in place regarding bullying
Please make use of this aid when speaking with and dealing with bullying issues with your student. 

 
Fall Play   Come and see a new take on an old favorite. BD presents Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring for our fall play. All performances are in the MAC and the cost is $7 for Adults and $5 for Students. The dates and times are: 
November 14th at 7pm
November 15th at 7pm
November 16th at 2pm
 
 
Transcript Request Alumni are now able to request a transcript by simply completing the Transcript Request Form and mailing it to: Brown Deer High School, c/o Guidance Dept., 8060 N. 60th Street, Brown Deer, WI 53223. There is a $5 charge per transcript requested.

Work Permits The following original docouments are needed in order to obtain a work permit (if you are under 18 you need one):
* Social Security Card or Passport
* Birth Certificate or Drivers License
* Letter from the employer with the full name, address, phone number, and what the position working.
* Letter from parent/guardian giving permission to work
* $10
